Short: Manages Aminet downloads, supports MUI
Type: comm/misc
Uploader: ukjg@rz.uni-karlsruhe.de (Tobias Ferber)
Author: Tobias Ferber, Harald Kunze
Replaces: MirrorMana-1.8b3.lha
OVERVIEW
--------
MirrorManager is a management system for downloads from your Aminet site.
Here is a short overview of what MirrorManager can do for you:
+ Scan the files in your incoming directory and add filenotes according
to the `Short' information given in the Aminet INDEX file
+ Create the Aminet directory hierarchy on your system (your local Aminet
mirror) from the Aminet TREE file
+ Move the files in your incoming directory to your local Aminet mirror
directory tree
+ Create a LOCAL index file from the files available in your Aminet mirror
directory tree
+ Compare your LOCAL index file with the actual Aminet INDEX file in order
to find changes and new revisions
INSTALLATION
------------
You are strongly urged to use the supplied installer script to install
MirrorManager!
(1) The supplied installer script will create a `MirrorManager' directory
and copy the desired files coming with this package into it.
(2) If you installed the GUI application then you also have to tell
MirrorManager about a number of path and filenames.
Click the Configure icon in the MirrorManager/rexx/ drawer to do this.
NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO YOUR SYSTEM WILL BE MADE !
NOTES
-----
+ THIS IS A BETA VERSION !!!
Read the History and Distfiles for more information!
+ The docs are not yet updated, they are still as of version 1.5
We know that! Please do not report it!
+ I've included my default configuration script in rexx/MirrorManager.rexx.
This script contains absolute pathnames for my personal installation only!
Please edit this script and change these values if needed before you use it
or use rexx/Configure to setup MirrorManager for your system.
+ Example data files which can be used with some scripts like CleanupIncoming
and ExamineIndex can be found in the `xtras' drawer.
+ Here is how to read the archive filename:
